HSM GmbH & Co. KG from Ernsgaden has been developing, producing and selling innovative add-on parts and assembly systems for special vehicles such as forklift trucks, industrial trucks and agricultural machinery since 1991. The high-quality vehicle parts include restraint systems, three-point suspensions, trailer couplings, brackets for hydraulic components, mounting assemblies, lift mast parts as well as cast housings and welded assemblies.
HSM specializes in the development and production of components and systems for commercial and special vehicles. With over 50 patents developed in collaboration with its own team of engineers, HSM offers unique solutions, particularly in restraint systems for industrial trucks and connecting elements in agricultural technology.
Leading international manufacturers of trucks, forestry and agricultural machinery as well as airport operators rely on HSM products. These are characterized by high safety, easy handling and comfort. All products are TÜV-tested, certified by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority and are used worldwide.

Company history
Foundation of HSM
The mechanical engineering company HSM Präzisionsteile & Sicherheitssysteme GmbH was founded in 1991 by Hans Sauermann in Ernsgaden near Ingolstadt. With 100 employees and an annual turnover of 16 million euros, it is one of the most stable and innovative medium-sized companies in Bavaria.
Change of name
On January 13, 2020, the mechanical engineering company HSM Hans Sauermann GmbH & Co. KG operated under the new name HSM GmbH & Co. KG. This renaming reflects the deeper integration as a subsidiary of Ringmetall AG.
Managing Director Kai Neubauer commented: “In 2020, we want to further strengthen our market position as HSM and expand it with innovative offerings for our customers. Despite economic challenges, we are striving for growth and long-term technological excellence while maintaining our economic independence.
The integration into Ringmetall AG and its group of companies offers additional synergy effects that will further strengthen our position.”
All known contact persons as well as the general terms and conditions of sale and delivery remain unchanged. HSM’s place of business will also remain the same: Im Gewerbegebiet 8, 85119 Ernsgaden.
Restructuring
On July 1, 2023, HSM GmbH & Co KG has a new owner and managing director: Dr. Thilo Theilen. Under his leadership, the company is now run as HSM Präzisionsteile & Sicherheitssysteme, and a new era begins for the company.
Dr. Theilen brings a wealth of experience and is keen to build on HSM’s existing strengths and develop innovative solutions for the future. The acquisition marks a significant step in the further development of HSM, with the aim of positioning itself as a leading supplier of precision parts and safety systems.
The familiar contacts and terms and conditions remain unchanged, while the company prepares for an exciting future under the leadership of Dr. Theilen.
Expansion of the management board
On July 1, 2024, Christian Gansbühler becomes the second managing partner at HSM.
With over 25 years of experience at HSM, Christian Gansbühler has played a key role in shaping the company. In recognition of his performance, he is given the opportunity to participate in the company and play a decisive role in shaping its future. His focus will be on the further development of operations at the plant.
